My name is Mariann. I am a mother. I am a wife. I am an author. And I could list many more roles I need to fulfil during a simple weekday. You know how it feels, I assume. I dedicated my spare time to support local families. I volunteer, I write, I publish. I was trained as a babywearing consultant to help you through the difficulties. There are no stupid questions and there is no issue too small. I am happy to be at your service. Read more about babywearing under Learn more.
My story: I was a happy humanitarian worker, serving the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations, with duty station in Hungary. I worked with 22 Maghreb and Central African countries and also visited some of them. My most remarkable achievement was when I worked in Kinshasa, the Democratic Republic of Congo. I learnt a lot about life there.
I studied International Relations: Foreign Affairs and Security Policy at the university and moved on to obtain a Master Degree of International Economics a few years later. I started to study towards my PhD (Defence Policy and conflict resolution) in 2012 when I got pregnant and I was lost. I was lost in parenting and I found myself the happiest ever when I became a mother. I felt I wasted years not having this miracle in my life much earlier. I dedicated therefore these years to mothers, babies and families who are born to enjoy the miracle of a new life together.
I have now returned to business in early 2015 and I manage a business coaching and consulting service. Babywearing is still my passion, my hobby and my miracle.

How do I feel about babywearing?
I carry my son. I carried him in my belly and I held him when he was born. He is part of me. An extension of my existence. I want to hold my baby close to my heart. I want to see him, feel him all the time.
My arms are weak. I need support. This is how a piece of fabric can help me do what is the most natural and vital to me: keep my baby close to me. My baby is sleeping in my arms. My arms are supported by a sling. Shall I then read a book? Or keep up with the housework? I might walk to the shop. Or I just sit here and admire how beautiful he is. It is amazing that I do not have to compromise: I am able to do anything and everything. I am free. If I stop for a second, I can enjoy listening to his breathing and feeling his heartbeat. It is my family on this picture! ====>
You are starting a beautiful journey in your life.
I know how exciting it is. Full of joy and expectations. One moment is about hope, the other one is full of fear and doubts. I know how scary it is. Say it out loud: I am scared! Come on! Do it. And do not panic. We are all scared. That's why we need to find each other and hold hands supporting everyone who is just about to fall. Now you are going to be a mother: a strong warrior, a gentle cradle and a comedian. You are able to do that.
